Google’s new USB kit is the plug-and-play solution ChromeOS Flex has been missing

Google wants to prevent your old laptop from landing in a landfill somewhere, and although it already works toward that goal with ChromeOS Flex, it wants to make the operating system even easier to access and upgrade to.

ChromeOS Flex: What it is, and why you should use it

Turn any old computer into a sleek fast Chromebook

For those unaware, ChromeOS Flex is a lightweight operating system that’s meant to make outdated, under powered, and laggy laptops/computers/Intel MacBooks feel snappy again. It replaces the resource-heavy Windows/macOS with the cloud-based prowess of ChromeOS.

Up until now, the primary way to download and install ChromeOS Flex has been through Google’s official website, though Google wants to make that process even easier.

The tech giant is partnering with Back Market, a leader in refurbished electronics, to offer a new ChromeOS Flex USB Kit. And yes, it is exactly what it sounds like.

The same ChromeOS Flex, but at a cost

“We’ve partnered with Google to bring you a simple-to-use tool to fight obsolescence. This pre-loaded USB key updates your computer with ChromeOS Flex to keep it running — and out of the landfill. All you have to do is plug it in,” reads the product’s description.

The ChromeOS Flex USB Kit costs only $3. If you order one now, expect the kit to be delivered within the next 4 to 5 days.

Together with Back Market, we’re proving that the more sustainable device is often the one already in your hands.

The kit offers simple jargon-free installation guides and video tutorials to help you through the setup process.

The kit should prove especially useful for those with a Windows 10 laptop that don’t want to go through the hassle of downloading and installing the OS via the dedicated website.

Of course, this won’t turn your old laptop into a video editing super rig, but it will certainly turn it into a more reliable machine that can be used seamlessly for browsing, streaming, and other basic everyday needs.

It’s worth noting, though, that the kit isn’t compatible universally. To see if your device is compatible, check the Certified Models List.

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
